West End Gallery 20th Anniversary Show

I was thrilled to be invited to be part of
20th Anniversary Show in Victoria!
I created the large Heart sculpture you see in this first image especially for the show.
My glass was featured in the front window throughout the show....A sweet spot to be seen for sure.
If you are in downtown Victoria you have a good chance of seeing my glass art somewhere in the gallery, along with some amazing paintings and glass from across Canada.
This is one the few places where you can see an extensive variety of my larger glass sculptures.
I am very grateful for this gallery, that they have the space and inclination to support and show my large works.

Mindful Creating

Golden Buddha with ceramic art at my studio entrance

ok, well...maybe not always mindfully creating....however....I am becoming much more aware of  how I approach my creative world, my whole life really....in how I manage the many opportunities to create, connect and show.....starting to really understand what factors are considered in the choices I make....and the more aware I am, the more I can make decisions from my heart....

for example...instead of thinking "I should go in that show" ...or.....some other artist is doing this...maybe i "should" too....whenever I use the word Should I know I need to look a little closer at my motivations....there is always something to learn.....

sooooo......moving along now.....

coming up soon, May 18th!  I am in a show at the West End Gallery in Victoria B.C. with the amazing Grant Leier and Nixie Barton! I have some new new ideas and fun circular shapes in my glass! I am really liking the outcome......YAY!!

Occupy My Studio

I am happily very involved in my studio with many many different projects.....spring is often very full, not busy, remember I am choosing not to use the word "busy".....

it's amazing how many times that 4 letter word could spring forth out of my mouth....I believe words are very powerful and I am consciously choosing to describe my active studio as something other then B U S Y......
I GET to go CREATE Today!!! that is an awesome way to envision my day.....
One of many things I am preparing for is a (big) show coming up in about a month....May 18th, at the West End Gallery in Victoria! so excited about this one....I will be showing glass sculptural work only, with 2 of my art mentors....Grant Leier and Nixie Barton.....
still creating my work for this one.....with lots already done! yay....
Stay tuned.....

Valentine's Day and Erotica

we are at that time of year again!!....Valentine's Day and the Annual Erotica Show at Gabriola Artworks....you may recall that last year i had some difficulty creating pieces for either type of these shows....
i am happy to say that this year it is a whole new game! and i have some really fun pieces....everything i created is mixed media on paper and panel....and just 3 little glass hearts on one of them....i cannot show you the full images yet because the show has not opened....i will however share a few detail shots of one piece, with the little paper hearts that hang from the bottom....
this also fuels my desire to have more play time with pink paint!
other new paintings went to The Van Dop Gallery, over in the lower mainland.....for their annual Heart to Heart Show and their Mother's Day show.....and glass art going out to the West End Gallery, The White Dog Gallery and Vernon Art gallery....
i have big gratitude for these wonderful opportunities...
stay tuned for detailed images after Feb.14th.....
